Grounding and Relaxing Support Meetings

Artist: Fyre Jean Graveline

Join Dr Fyre Jean Graveline, Lynn Fraser and other
LIFE as Medicine collaborators online
Thursdays at 6:30 PM Atlantic

We begin with a 20 minute grounding and relaxation practice. You are welcome to stay after for conversation, sharing and support.

Please share this page and Zoom link with other Survivors, Descendants, and people in your extended family of support.

Collaborate with us!

We understand from our First Voice Leadership Team, that Sixties Scoop Survivors from Mi’kma’ki have not been given opportunities for Gathering, or resources for much needed healing. We are beginning this process by hosting networking spaces for Sixties Scoop Survivors, their families and descendants in land-based and arts-based events. Cultural supports from Indigenous artisans and cultural knowledge holders will be provided along with opportunities for individual, family and group sessions with qualified Indigenous and Indigenized therapists.

Flowing from our Opening in late September and our event December 2nd with Andrea Currie’s reading from her book Finding Otipemisiwak: The People Who Own Themselves, we are offering future Gatherings as guided and shaped by input from First Voice Sixties Scoop Survivors.

Upcoming events include: Open Studio for Sixties Scoop - Stories of Hope and Resilience; addiction support; affinity group for Sixties Scoop Descendants; and LIFE as Medicine Healing Our Fragmentation: ReImagining Our InterDependence - see Workshops & Events Page.

We encourage all to reach out to us to express your desires to be included in events, your inspirations and questions, and to let us know your needs.  Please email Kathy@lifeasmedicine.ca or phone her at 902-324-2884.

LIFE as Medicine upcoming events include

Healing our Fragmentation: ReImagining our InterDependence - Winter/Spring 2025, a 7-week series to be offered Jan-Apr 2025.

Join Dr. Fyre Jean Graveline (RSW, RCAT), Métis Artist, Author, Healer and Teacher, and a lively lovely group of LIFE as Medicine GrandMothers, Wisdom Weavers and Collaborators for our upcoming Series.

All sessions will be on Saturdays 10 am-4 pm Atlantic and we are taking a Hybrid approach. Joining us in person will allow for an optimal experience, with all materials and lunch provided. Simultaneously a live-streamed Zoom session will be available for those further away, or when winter weather conditions make travel difficult.

Full scholarships to this series are available and Sixties Scoop Survivors, Descendants and Families are invited and welcome to join us as our guests.

Details, dates, topics and registration are available here.

Other LIFE as Medicine Collaborators, Elders and Grandmothers will be joining us at various times during these meetings.

Grounding and Relaxation Resources

Intergenerational trauma, and the trauma of every day life affects our nervous system, and it can take time and support to recover and heal. In addition to joining us live at events for Sixties Scoop Survivors, Descendants and Families, we invite you to access these free nervous system and resilience building resources from Lynn Fraser Stillpoint.
