Silence Retreats Each Month - next one is Saturday August 1

I love to practice silence! Sometimes it is a few minutes when I pause and breathe, or my daily walks in nature listening to the birds and wind in the trees. I also enjoy longer scheduled periods of silence. Some silence daily and a monthly 1/2 day of silence is very helpful.

Much of the noise in the low-frequency mind is generated by our nervous system with its urgent communication about possible danger. During practice, we attune to this specific moment in time, using our eyes to orient to the room around us to cues of safety, noticing and grounding through our feet and seat, relaxing our body, and letting our nervous system settle. Nervous system regulation, coming out of survival responses like fight/ flight/ freeze, is a prerequisite for accessing and enjoying the vast stillness in the mind.

The first principle of yoga is ahimsa, or non-harming. Be kind as you consider how to participate. You are very welcome to join us for all or part of the retreat. If you have a lot going on, it may not be practical to come for the whole time. For others, it will be a delight.
