Meeting Earth Mother
Last week I wrote about longing for grounded connection with Mother Earth and our upcoming series of four Wisdom Talks with Earthkeeper Nukumi Selina Mu. This is how our first class began.
Everyone, let's take a nice deep breath and connect in with our hearts, if we may, and send out a celebration of joy from our heart to every cell of our being, just sending in joy to ourselves.
Send it out to Earth Mama, where you live. Say, good morning, Mama. We're coming to meet you. And send that out to the trees. Send them some love and a sense of goodwill and peace to all.
In this first week together, we got a sense of Grandmother Selina’s journey to connection, realizing her life’s purpose is to help Earth Mother, and the powerful relationship they have developed.
She invited us to see ourselves sitting on the earth and taking a breath with the earth.
I am breathing in the sacred breath of Mother Earth whom I sit upon. Just see yourself sitting upon the earth, hands touching. Maybe it's red ochre earth that you're sitting upon or an old stone, huge boulder or you're sitting inside a cave. I am breathing in the sacred breath of Mother Earth who sits with me and I sit upon. Let that connection flow.
I send you love from my heart to your heart and I receive your love. Earth Mother, I receive your love.
Palms of your hands touching the earth. Sacred breath in, sacred breath out. And saying to Mama, I love you. I love you Mother Earth and I send you love. I love you Mother Earth and I receive your love. Be in relationship with her in that simple way.
Nukumi Selina’s connection flows from a foundation of connection and belonging. I found myself moved and inspired during our explorations together in class. People asked questions ranging from connecting with our Ancestors to being with the crumbling systems of this time we are in.
We are part of the new Earth that is emerging now. This journey of awakening is critical in this time. We are at the forefront of shaping what is to be the new Earth. Be joyful in your life here on Earth in this moment. We are witnessing the chaos but within the chaos beauty and love are forming. Turn to the goodness that is here. Turn off your TV’s and those things that pull you down into the chaos.
We are here to lift Mama up through love and joy and peace, bringing our hearts together.
