Access the deepest stillness of your mind
When our nervous system settles out of hypervigilance, fight/flight/freeze caused by the stress of daily life and unhealed trauma, we become grounded and emotionally regulated.
We get to know ourselves somatically (in our body). We practice tools to work with the uncomfortable sensations and energy that we’ve disconnected from.
We use powerful tools to stay grounded in the safety of the present moment and break the trance of catastrophic thinking.
We will have time for questions and exploration of releasing obstacles to consistently experiencing the stillness that is always already here.
By participating in this five weeks of deepening, you will:
Identify and overcome your personal barriers to stillness, strengthening and building resilience in your nervous system and whole mind-body connection, allowing you to feel more grounded, resourced, and present in the safety of the now.
Gain a foundational understanding of trauma, recognize responses like fight/ flight/ freeze/ fawn, and develop skills for emotional regulation and accessing inner stillness.
Dissolve obstacles that hinder a regular spiritual practice.
The Stillpoint Method is a somatic mindfulness-based inquiry practice that can be integrated into daily life, fostering deeper Awareness and Being.
Understanding Trauma Responses
We turn against ourselves with a mean inner critic. We may anxiously attempt to control others and our surroundings to feel safer. Our minds can become trapped in cycles of rumination and catastrophic thinking. Sometimes, we shut down and intellectualize our emotions instead of fully experiencing them.
Unresolved trauma hijacks our system and keeps us in perpetual hypervigilance and survival responses of fight/ flight/ freeze/ fawn. We don’t have to live that way.
As we reduce and release the barriers to self-awareness, self-respect, and self-compassion, we become less reactive to external shaming. We grow more resilient against manipulation, establish healthier boundaries, and learn to advocate for ourselves, prioritizing our own well-being.
Compassion and Kindness: the Shortcut to Healing
Compassion is the daily practice of recognizing and accepting our shared humanity, so that we treat others and ourselves with loving-kindness. Through attuned empathy, we experience kindness and compassion for ourselves and others. We become a steady presence for ourselves as we welcome feelings and associated thoughts, memories and beliefs.
We Get Better At Life
We deeply know our authentic self on all levels of mindbody. We regularly access higher levels of awareness and stillness. We no longer fear the trauma that is stored as sensations and energy in our body. We cultivate welcoming all that is here.
We practice meditation and nervous system regulation to have more ease and joy in life.
With mindfulness of our thoughts and energy, we continue to redirect our attention away from movement toward our own basic goodness. We access our Stillpoint.
